Little Rock Urban Farming

Natalie Skinner’s Bio

Hello! I am from Monticello, AR and am currently pursuing a BA in Environmental Science from Hendrix College in Conway, AR. After my (hopeful) graduation in May 2015, I anticipate taking a year off for travel before attending graduate school for Ecology. Eventually, I would like to become a graduate-level professor and perform my own research. Outside of coursework, I oversee the Hendrix College Garden and am Vice-Chair for Hendrix’s Environmental Concerns Committee. I also volunteer often with the Faulkner County Urban Farm.

During the summer of 2013, I completed an internship with LRUF. My 10-week stay at LRUF gave me experience in propagating, cultivating, and harvesting crops as well as working at farmer’s markets. The experience was invaluable and I am excited to apply the training I received at LRUF in my future work.

Though gardening is my passion, I also enjoy sewing, reading, camping, lounging in the sun, and spending quality time with my feline friends (and sometimes my human friends, too).
